Thank you for joining me in this Healing and Deliverance Tools podcast. It's a podcast series where I share divine truths that will bring healing and deliverance to those that are oppressed by demons. My name is Dr Gilbert Mwachia and I'm your host in this teaching. Jesus said that you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. So it's the knowledge of the truth, it's the truth that is in your heart, that will give you that power to walk in freedom from these malevolent and malicious spirits sent from Satanic Kingdom. So let's get started.

In today's lesson, I want us to answer this important question: Can demons enter and operate in a believer? Can demons enter and operate in a believer? See, the answer to that question is important because it will determine the decision or the stand that you will take against the oppression that comes from the Kingdom of Darkness. If you are one that believes that a Christian or a believer cannot have a demon, then you will accept everything that comes your way. You will just take it in, lying down. But if you know and understand that there are situations, and I'm talking about situations or circumstances, where demons can come in and begin to oppress, then you will take a biblical stand against these spirits and do your part and see God doing his part. So first of all, let's define what we're talking about, a believer. A believer, in my definition here, will be somebody who has acknowledged his sins and his need for a savior and has opened his heart and his life to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal savior. That's a believer. See, like you, go to John, chapter 1 and verse 12, it says and verse 12 and 13, it says as many as received him, he gave them the right to become children of God, children born not of blood, nor of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but born of God. So we are talking about somebody who is born again, somebody who has been risen, his spirit has been regenerated. He is a believer because his spirit has been born again.

I've stayed away from using the term a Christian because that time has been abused People who claim to be Christians simply because they go to church. Maybe they have a Christian name, they have been baptized? Oh, maybe they take holy communion and they think that makes them a child of God. Well, those are just religious rites. You can do all that, and I was there doing all that with a good name, going to church. But yet I was living in sin. I was not born again. But a time came when I acknowledge my sins and say that I need a savior, and opened my heart and something happened. I was born again. I was born again.

And when you're born again, you know it. It's not religion. There's a difference that comes in when you are born again. If you're not a believer, you haven't submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ to have him as your savior. It's very easy. All you need is to open your heart, open your spirit and accept him. As he says in 1John, chapter three, verse 20, behold, I stand in the door and knock. If any man opens, I will come in and dwell with him. So you get to have Jesus, you get to have the Holy Spirit living inside of you and you will know because he will bear witness, he will bear testimony. You are born again. I know you go to church do all the rituals. That's good, but it's not enough until you are born again, until your spirit accepts Jesus Christ and open yourself, then you become regenerate, your spirit is regenerate, We'll see that in a little bit here.

So, talking about spirit, for us to understand and answer this question, can demons enter and operate in a believer or in a true Christian, not a religious one? I'm emphasizing that it's good to be religious, but it is not enough. It's good to be religious, it's good if you you're religious, you go to church or wherever, but you must be born again. You need Christ. I need Christ, all right. So can a demon? Can a demon enter and operate in a believer? That's the question we are answering now.

When we're talking about spirit, it's important to first of all begin at this, to understand how we, our beings, are constituted human beings. I'm talking about being our human being. How are we constituted? See, it's a very important verse in in in Phathetsolonians, chapter five, in verse 23, where Paul says now, may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely and may your whole spirit, soul and body be preserved, blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. So Paul mentions there that may your whole spirit, soul and body be preserved, blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. It reveals to us that our constitution, we are constituted, we have a body, we have a soul and we have a spirit.

If you go to Genesis, chapter 2, in verse 7, you will see how God formed man. We are told there that and the Lord God formed man out of the dust of the earth and then he breathed on him the breath of life and man became a living soul. Here you see again the three parts Dust God took dust and formed man, fashioned him in the likeness of a man, and then God himself breathed in his nostril. First man Adam. He breathed the breath of life. That is the life that has been passed on from Adam to every man that lives. Okay, this is the life that science cannot manufacture. Why? Because it came from God. See, science has manufactured all and everything they have tried to manufacture, they have even manufactured cells, but they are incapable of manufacturing life. Because life comes from God and that has been. It is something it's a mystery of God. So God breathed, he put in the breath of life, which represents the spirit, into, into Putting a spirit in man, and then, we are told, man became a living soul. They are the soul came into being so quickly. To define what these three entities that we are constituted are.

Your body is what enables you to relate with the world. It came from the world. Okay, your body it makes you conscious of the world. It has five senses. We know the senses, you know your eyes, so it will be sight, it will be your ears, there will be your nose smelling, and then there will be your test and there will be your touch. Those five senses, that's what constitutes the body and it enables us to be conscious of our environment, what's around us in the world, okay, and then the soul. The soul is what makes you conscious of yourself, your inner being. Your soul makes you conscious of your inner self, yourself. Alright, so it's self-conscious, world conscious, self-conscious. And your soul is made up of your mind, okay, and of your will and of your emotions. Your spirit, man, enables you to be God-conscious, alright, you can respond to God through your spirit. Again, quick summary body world conscious, soul, self-conscious. And spirit, god conscious.

But when man seemed, his spirit, his ability to relate with God, died, you know, you say the day you will eat of the fruit you will die. Now, he didn't drop dead, but there was a disconnect between God and man. Man lost his communion with God and he died. So death, there is separation from God and of course God made a barrier I don't want to get into the depth of that. That's not our teaching today. So we have a soul, we have a spirit and we have a body.

Now, when you are born again, at the time when you acknowledge your sin, at the time when you surrender to Christ and say I am a sinner, I need to be saved, I need to, I am confessing my sin, when you release yourself to God, at that moment of your region, at that moment of being born again, your spirit comes back to life. It is born again. It was born. You're born of the flesh. That is the life that you received from generation to generation through your parents, that life of God that has been passed to every man. Every man has a life that has been passed from Adam, that came from God, and that's why every man, somehow or the other, even if you claim to have been a nafist, you still have that.

That, the knowledge of God. You know, somehow there's some that knowledge. That is something beyond, beyond just this life. Beyond, there has to be a God. Even those who deny is what they do is just denying, just denying. But God created man in his image and put something in him and makes him conscious of God Right and so, and so you can live with denial or you can accept the truth.

But when you get born again, your spirit receives the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit comes to live and to dwell in your spirit, in your spirit man. That's where now he begins to operate, it begins to cancel. Man was supposed to be led and directed from his spirit, but when he sinned, his spirit died and saw his flesh, his body, his senses and his soul took over. So he's reacting depending on, on, on the, on the outside, the flesh, the, the environment, dictated by the environment. But God intended that your spirit, your spirit man, is the one who governs you, who leads you.

So you see, when I reading the Bible says, those who are led by the spirit of God, those are the children of God. You are not governed by by the things that you see, you hear, you smell, you touch, no, not, not by the senses. They say we are not walking by sight, but we are walking by faith. So we, it is what our spirit receives from God, that's what we live by. Okay, so when you're born again, the Holy Spirit dulls and lives in your spirit man, okay, he takes residence there and that becomes his dwelling place, then you still have your soul, you still have your body. These are the areas which are exposed to attacks and oppressions of Satan. Okay, satan knows he still can, can, can throw stones. He cannot take your spirit. Okay, he cannot live in your spirit, but as a believer, he can oppress your soul. He can oppress, he can attack. He can attack your soul or your body. If this were not possible, then some of the scriptures we see will not be there in the Bible and I'll share with you in a moment.

But before I get in there, I want to, to, to to clear out some misunderstanding that comes by the, by the interpretation from the original Greek to the Bible. Now, the New Testament, in particular, the New Testament was written in Greek and the translations we have in English or maybe in your language, wherever you are, these are translations and in the process of translation there are some meanings which have been lost and some of these meanings have brought confusion, even in the Church of Jesus Christ. Now, particularly what Amintus said in is the word we see, possession by a devil. We can go and look into the Bible where it says he is possessed by a devil, that word where it is translated, especially in the King James Version, where it says he's been possessed. He's possessed the devil is from the Greek word diamonizo. I'm not pronouncing it right because I'm not a Greek scholar. I just studied this Diamonizo, so diamonizo is what has been translated in our English version as as a possession. Diamonizo, if we are, we translated in literal meaning will be said, is demonized, somebody is demonized, demonized. Now, when you are demonized, then these versions all Russian King James in particular, will say is possessed, and New King James and many other version is possessed by the devil.

Now the problem comes because our English word possession, when we translated it, means ownership, to be owned, to be owned, possession. I possess this, I own this. And so people say hey, I'm a believer, I have the Holy Spirit, my spirit, the Holy Spirit does in me, the Holy Spirit owns me. How can I be possessed? How can I be owned by a devil or by a demon? It's impossible, and they're right, right in that sense. Okay that no, no child of God can be possessed by a devil, because if you don't have the spirit of God possessing your spirit, then you are not of this. So Paul says whoever does not have the spirit of God is not of God, you can do anything, but if you don't have the Holy Spirit, then you are not of God. Okay so, but you see they are using the word possession, but diamonizo, or to be demonized, the original word, the meaning, the original word, meaning here, this, because this is important, the original Greek word it means to be subject to demonic influence. That's what a basic holy means.

Dr. Gilbert Mwachia: 19:29

Studying some, some of these books and and bringing knowledge and understanding and I learned this a lot from Derek Prince books, you know to an other Greek scholars. You know he studied that it means to come under the influence, not to be possessed. That word does not mean possession. It means coming under the influence of demon is to be demonized, not to be possessed. So we have there's a very unfortunate thing we have now English version. It brings forth an idea Somebody is owned by a devil, and so in some churches, in some Christian circles, they say no way, there is no way a Christian can be possessed by a devil. Okay, but if they go to the original, to be demonized or diamonized, or it is to be subject to demonic influence, right. So we will see in a little bit, as we, as we get into the word here when it is talking about oppression.

Dr. Gilbert Mwachia: 20:40

It is all. The demons are not taking possession of your spirit, man, but they're coming in the realm or in the level of your soul and of your body to bring influence, to try and influence. You See, if we go to 2 Corinthians, chapter 2, in verse 11, we shared in this verse where Paul says less certain should take advantage of us, for we are not ignorant of his devices. See, then he says we should not be ignorant of devices of the devil. Now Paul will not write that if there was no way Satan could come in and take advantage of us. But the enemy would love us to believe he cannot operate in our lives. He would love us to people, people who say, oh, there's no Satan. Oh, there's no Satan loves that because then he has a free hand to do whatever he wants in their lives. So he says less Satan should take advantage of us.

Dr. Gilbert Mwachia: 21:59

Now in the Bible. In the Bible there are several warning in the scriptures, and whatever there is warning is because there is danger. We cannot be warned if there was no danger. If there was no danger. We will not see these warnings in this picture and I want us to look at a very important scripture. Okay, that will help us in answering this question.

Dr. Gilbert Mwachia: 22:24

In 1 Peter, if you go to Peter now we have talked about Paul, let's see what Peter says to us In 1 Peter, chapter 5, and verse number 8 and 9, I think we'll only be able to go up to verse 8. Then we'll pick on from verse 9 in our next teaching, but we'll read all of them 1 Peter, chapter 5, 1 Peter, chapter 5 and verse 8. Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary, the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may divert. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world the moment. Let's look at this verse 8. He said be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may divert. We are in a battle and here Apostle Peter is revealing to us and he is saying our enemy moves. He is not a lion, but he moves like he walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may divert. He wants us to see the picture of the lion wanting to pounce on its prey because it is hungry. The words there have the picture. The roaring lion is a lion, always hungry, wanting to eat something.

Dr. Gilbert Mwachia: 24:18

That's how Satan announced Satan when I talked about demons. They are the primary agents for demonic oppression in the world. Satan is only one, the devil is only one and he cannot be everywhere at the same time. So he uses these minors with these minors, these agents of his, to bring oppression to move around. So what are we asked? What are the instructions? And these are commands.

Dr. Gilbert Mwachia: 24:51

These are commands that Apostle Peter is giving. He says be vigilant. The word there is be sober, for so be sober. It means be cool-headed, be. The other version says be self-controlled, be self-controlled and be alert. Be self-controlled and be alert. Be sober, be clear-minded, be alert. Why? Why should we do? And it's not a request, and it's in the original language, in the original Greek language. There is an agency there which we miss from our English translation. There is an agent Like Peter is saying this is urgent, this is important, this is really important. Do it now, don't wait. Be sober, be alert. Be sober, be vigilant, be careful, be cool-headed. Don't allow yourself to be carried out.

Dr. Gilbert Mwachia: 25:51

Don't live like a drunkard, don't be carried away like a drunkard. The opposite of being sober is being drunk. A drunkard man doesn't really care much. He's careless. He can, he can hurt himself, he can drive carelessly. You see, that's the opposite of being sober is being drunk.

Dr. Gilbert Mwachia: 26:11

Don't live like a drunkard man, why? Because you have an enemy and this enemy is not sleeping. Your enemy, the devil, is. He is moving around and he is seeking whom he may devour. So we need to be watchful and when I, when we read that verse, it should tell us a number of things. Yes, we have an enemy, but a very important truth that you and I need to embrace is that Satan cannot devour every believer or every true Christian. He can't. But there is a particular kind of Christians where he can come in and Devo. And the word right, see, he says a, he says he is pro-looking for home, he may Devo. Take that to heart. There is a way that you can, you can live your life as a Christian. There is a way you can conduct yourself and the enemy has no way to deviate. He cannot devour every Christian. There is a Christian he will go and he will find. This one is sober, this one is a lot, this one knows. This one will take a stand Against my schemes, against my strategies.

Dr. Gilbert Mwachia: 27:40

We read, paul says less sitting. Take advantage of us, for we are not ignorant of his devices. So he has devices or schemes, or strategies or plan. I share this in our last teaching. She can find somewhere in this series, wherever you're watching this series. Okay, so see, he has plans, your strategies here, schemes. But when he comes and he finds you are an a lot Christian, you are, you are a lot to his devices and schemes, it's nothing he can do. He has to go and look for a Christian who is not a lot, who is, who is open. And we'll share this in our next teaching, because I can't finish this in one session, so we have to continue this in our next teaching.

Dr. Gilbert Mwachia: 28:30

Condiments, condiments, enter and operate in a believer, right or in a Christian, all right. So what are we seeing here? We need to be sober. We are being warned that we have an enemy. So if you are one of those who says, oh, tim was cannot enter or cannot operate in a believer, then why would Peter write these, these, these, these warnings, or Repair the Christians for what is coming?

Dr. Gilbert Mwachia: 29:04

Okay, see, that should tell us the other some places we could go, like in Ephesians chapter, chapter 6, the famous chapter for spiritual warfare, where Paul says for we wrestle, not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual host of wickedness in heavenly places. There you guys, the spiritual armor, put on the whole armor of God, because that is in Ephesians, chapter 6, verse 12, going down once. See, we are in a battle, we are in a war. It's a spiritual war and whether you are aware of it or not, the enemy is out there, seeking to come and influence, to influence your life, to, to, to oppress you, to harass, to, to, to To harass you. We should not take everything lying down. We need to take our stand and we will see this as we continue in second part of this Teaching, because we are run out of time.

Dr. Gilbert Mwachia: 30:21

Hallelujah, hope you're getting something here. But maybe you're saying, oh, pastor, I feel I'm oppressed, I feel I need prayers and I can't wait until you finish. I need you to pray with me. Yes, yes, we need to pray together, and I have. I've created a teaching and when I set the ground for you to come alongside me and agree in prayer. That we pray together, but we have to do something here. That we pray together. But we have to prepare your heart, because faith comes by hearing. These things you will receiving by faith. You have to receive it by faith, all right, so I have to share with you, prepare your heart and then you join me. Then we agree together, as the word of God said.

Dr. Gilbert Mwachia: 31:12

Jesus himself said in in Matthew, chapter 18 as 19. He says, and I say to you well, if two of you shall agree as touching Anything that they shall ask, it shall be done of my father in heaven. That's a promise that we can come. We can agree in prayer, we can agree in prayer and wrestle together with these Demonic forces. And we see God doing it, and I was doing it.

Dr. Gilbert Mwachia: 31:41

House, agree, I knew God is gonna do miracles for some people. And don't say I'll pass that. I have listened to that. I have prayed. No, don't stop it, don't stop. Pray, listen again, join me in prayer, hold on to that, pray again, pray again, go again, do it, do it, yes. So fight. We have to fight these demonic forces. You're not going to relent. See, it's a battle. Sometimes God answers right there. Sometimes your faith rises as you listen again, because his faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. So you listen again and you pray again, say Lord, I'm believing, I'm believing, I'm standing with Dr Machia Lord, let your hand be sure and you're fighting those demons, those harassment, those spirits. I tell you what they're all given, they all flee and we'll see that in the next minute. So go in and pray Hallelujah. So you can find these teachings.
