Hi there and thank you so much for joining me for this Healing and Deliverance Tool, the teaching series where I share divine truths that can bring you, your loved ones, healing and deliverance from demonic oppression. If we are meeting for the first time, my name is Dr Gilbert Mochia. I'm a dentist and a Bishop of Faith Celebration Ministries International in Kenya and a pastor of Faithlife Victory Church here in Spring, texas, a city within Houston Metro. Well, at the end of this teaching, I will give some directions on how you can join me for a time of prayer where we can agree together in prayer for deliverance from demons. You can use this and share this message also with those, your loved ones, who will need help from above. So that will come at the end of the lesson.
Speaker 1:But in today's lesson I want us to look at this subject signs and symptoms of demonic oppression, signs and symptoms of the presence of demons. How you can be able to spot a demon or identify or recognize that there is a demon in operation here. How do you recognize the presence of a demon in a person, in you, or because you can self-diagnose, or you can see it in somebody else? So we'll cover about 13, 12 or 13 today, if we have time, and then in the next session we will continue with some more. I wanted to understand that demons have many ways, so many ways, to manifest themselves. They are persons. Remember in my earlier teachings demons are persons, they are personalities, only that they don't have bodies. And they are persons and because they are persons, they are so many as varied. It's like we have very many human beings with different manifestations of personality. The same way, demons have so many varied manifestations which we are not able to cover all of them, but we will just bring some of the common ones which can help us. Alright, so let's get into our today's teaching and start by laying the foundation. So do the introduction and lay some foundation here.
Speaker 1:The first thing that I want to share here and say is that demons cause problems, but not all problems are caused by demons. You have to get that so that we are not miscotted somewhere that we are said everything is demon, demon, demon, demon. No, no, demons cause problems. All problems are caused by demons, and if demons are there, it's best for us to diagnose them, because if you do not diagnose, then you are not able to treat. Alright, the second thing that we have to say here is that there is the sinful nature in us that responds to the sin that we inherited from Adam. The sinful nature that is your flesh, all the old man, your flesh responds to the desires to sin, that nature that we inherited from Adam when he is sinned against God. Now it is what the Bible calls the work of the flesh. We must be able to differentiate between works of the flesh and demonic activities, because if we not, then we will not be able to offer the right remedy to the problem somebody is having.
Speaker 1:So let me first of all read for you here, with you here, the works of the flesh, so you can see how closely related these are found in Galatians, chapter 5 and verse 19, going down to 21. Let me just read quickly here in Galatians, chapter 5, from verse 19. He said Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are adultery, fornication and cleanliness. Adultery, sorcery, hatred, connotations, jealously, outbursts of wrath, selfish omissions, dissensions, heuracies, envy, murders, drunkenness, reverberations and the like, of which I tell you beforehand, just as I told you in time pass, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. So Paul clearly says those who continually practice this, who make this is their lifestyle. They will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Speaker 1:But looking at these works of the flesh, you will see some of them really look demonic, but really it's just the flesh itself. There is no demon involved, it's just the flesh giving in to the sinful nature, the sinful nature giving in to sin seen as a principle which we have inherited from Adam. So you can see things like sorceries or adultery or fornication or adultery. You might think that that's a demon. No, we all have some of these. They are enus. These desires are enus, you know.
Speaker 1:But there is a place where a demon comes and it becomes not just like an outburst of anger. Now you have a spirit of anger. Remember here, the outburst of anger or wrath is a manifestation of the sinful nature. But then where do you divide the line? It's a very thin line. Where does the demon start and where does it just me, just being driven by my own flesh, giving in to the demands of the flesh?
Speaker 1:Okay, now, the easiest way, I think, to understand this is to know that demons are spirits and so they bring supernatural power to something that is already present, for example, if you have a problem of anger and you have opened your heart and now you are possessed by the spirit of anger. You are doing the same, the same anger, but the intensity is beyond natural. You are doing things that are completely out of control. So that's the way to identify it. It is an unanointing, just like the way when we are anointed by the Holy Spirit, that the Holy Spirit gives us supernatural enablement. We are empowered by the Holy Spirit to do things that are beyond normal. All right, they are supernatural, beyond natural. The same way, if you have a demon spirit is a spirit of fornication, for example. You are out of control, you are doing things beyond natural, as I'll share in one of the symptoms of a demonic oppression. All right. So just understand that this is an anointing that somebody receives and they are doing beyond what is normal. Okay. And to be able to identify that, to discern, for example, when you are dealing with deliverance, to discern whether this is just a work of the flesh or is a demon involved, is very important, because the remedies for these two whether it's a demon or it's a work of the flesh are completely different.
Speaker 1:All right, I was studying the books by Reverend Derek Prince. I love his books, very good teachings. You see, he says that when somebody has a problem, the problem is a work of the flesh, the remedy for it is crucifixion. To crucify the flesh, that's what he's supposed to do. You take up the cross. You know, brother, if the problem you're having, sister, if the problem you're having a phonication, your phonication or your adultery, or your outburst of anger or hatred you have is simply a work of the flesh, then you just need to bring yourself, pick up the cross and crucify the flesh.
Speaker 1:The Bible says in Galatians, chapter 5, verse 24, down there we've read up to verse 21,. It says that those who are Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions. With its passions, you need to learn to discipline your body. You take the cross and put the cross to put the flesh under subjection. Until it responds, you die. You die to the sinful nature.
Speaker 1:If you go to the book of Romans, chapter 6, paul mentions there that we are no longer slaves. We are no longer slaves to sin. In us Sin is there, the desires of the flesh are there, but we are no longer slaves to sin, to be driven. You see, but when you have a demon, a demon you cannot control, you are out of control, because what demons do is they enslave demons, demons compel, demons cause you to do things beyond your ability to say no. You know those who are.
Speaker 1:When you have a demon, then you are doing things that you are not in control. You are driven, you are forced, you are compelled, you just can't control yourself. For example, somebody who has a spirit of drunkenness. You see, drunkenness here is a manifestation of the work of the flesh. People are drinking. Just because you are drunk doesn't mean you have a demon of drunkenness. But if you have a spirit of drunkenness, when you are drinking crazy you took so many bottles which are beyond natural. Somebody drinks a whole crate of beer and they wake up in the morning the first thing they want is beer, even when they know that. Even when the doctor says this is killing you, man, they don't care. They don't care, they just do it. They just do it. They are driven. That's a demon.
Speaker 1:Now, if it's a demon, you can't take the cross. The cross is not heaven. The remedy for a demon is to cast that spirit out. That spirit has to be bound and has to be told go. You see how important it is. So you can't interchange. If you have a demon, that demon needs to be cast out. If you have a demon of anger, it has to be cast out. You cannot control it and say you can struggle, oh, I'm struggling, I'm picking up the and you find yourself you've lost it. Why? Because it's a spirit and the spirit does not respond. You cannot crucify a demon. You can't. Neither can you cast out flesh. If it's a work of the flesh, we can't cast out your flesh. You need your body to live in this world. So I hope that makes a difference. So we need to lay that ground.
Speaker 1:And so let's continue, then, to look at these different aspects, the signs and symptoms of demonic oppression. Signs and symptoms of demonic oppression. Now, I have divided them into two. All right, divided them into two so that we cover some today and then we cover some more in the following teaching. So today we'll look at the outward manifestation, outward manifestations of demonic oppression. What I mean? Outward or outward signs.
Speaker 1:I am talking about things that we can be able to see from the outside. We can see, you know, you can look at some, some, some manifestations and see, oh, that that is a demon. That's a demon, that's a demon operating there. And then in the following week we will look at the inward manifestations. When we talk about inward, these are things you or somebody else who is experiencing. They are the only ones we are aware. People may not be aware. You're struggling, you have this all right, but you, you, you, you have them there inward. Inward we may not see. Now, there is intermiring on this, sometimes the inwards manifest on the outward, the outward manifest on the inward. But for purposes of understanding, I've tried to divide this to try and simplify so we can have two sessions. So let's let me read one scripture as we go to the outer, because this will help us Mark five, mark five as one and through to five.
Speaker 1:Then they came to the other side of the sea, to the county of the Gadarens, and when he had come out of the boat as Jesus, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit who had his dwelling among the tombs and no one could bind him, not even with chains, because he had been bound with shackles and chains, because he had been and the chains had been pulled apart by him and the shackles broken in pieces. Neither could anyone tame him and always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and cutting himself with the stones. So here is a man who comes out from the tombs and the guy has demons, has demons, and we see these manifestations coming out very, very clearly. And so let's begin with our first one. You know what is our first sign of demonic oppression? And the first one is an unnatural desire for strange places and things. You know some unnatural desire. You have an unnatural desire for strange places, very strange places and things. You know a good example.
Speaker 1:This is a very is a more radical case, but this guy, for example, was living in tombs. Now, that's not a natural place to go and live in or desire to live in, but he was attracted to tombs. He couldn't live with people in the city but he wanted to go and live in tombs. Okay, so that's not natural. So that's a demon, that's a spirit, an unclean spirit, and of course, this is more radical. But there are people who have a, who desire strange things. You know very unnatural. You know just things or places that you're passing through, some dark places. That's what you are attracted to. You want to go and stay in some dark places. You feel you're being pulled, you're being under the bridge or things like that. Remember when I was growing up we had somebody who was attracted to soil, that soil, so she would go in and grab in some soil, you know, and he would eat that. You know, literally taking as though it is food. You know, like that, a whole mouthful of soil and and soloing it. You know eating strange stuff. You know that's, that's demonic. You know that's definitely right there. That's a demon, you know. You can tell it's a demon spirit. You know so, strange places, strange things, you know you are attracted to them. You may be dealing with a demon. Remember what I said not everything is demonic, but when you see some of these things, you're most likely dealing with a demon that needs to be cast out.
Speaker 1:Number two let's go to the second one. The second one is frequent and repeated self harm activities. Frequent and repeated self harm activities. You, you want to harm yourself. You, you, suddenly something comes and you, you feel like you want to harm yourself or even to harm others. You know, you, you have people.
Speaker 1:A good example is this demoniac we have just read here. We're told he was cutting himself with stones. Cutting himself with stones, that's, that's not no more. That's demonic, you know. And there's some people who are. They're always, always, always harming themselves. You know, you see somebody, just all of a sudden they want to hit. Maybe they're hitting a ground or a hard place. They're hitting hard, hard, you know, and then they're, until they start bleeding and they realize, oh, I am hot. You know that's a demon that is oppressing that person. You know, some people are very prone. You're always, you're always harming yourself, harming yourself, and remember, we can get cut, that's no more. But I'm talking about frequent and repeated self-harm activities. That is an indication there is a demon spirit there.
Speaker 1:Alright, let's go to number three. Number three compulsive. Compulsive, jacking, and and and twitching. And you know, somebody is, is, is, is, and the word is compulsive. You know, we all jack from time to time, but it's your compelled, your force. This is an involuntary activity. Somebody is walking, walking around, and then all of a sudden, you know, they, they, they are jacking or lifting up their, their, their, their shoulders or their, or, or stretching out their, their, their, their knee, their, their head, like that, like an animal. You know, and, and it's involuntary, you know, it's not something that they're doing, they just found themselves, they have done that. That is most likely a demon spirit. You're twitching, you are jacking, you're you're being thrown here and there that we, you're dealing with a demon.
Speaker 1:You know when, when you talk about this? It was a time the Pentecostal circles people are confusing, they're anointing, evil spirits are coming in and some people started developing some, some jack and even pastors would feel like they're more anointed. When now they're, they're, they're jacking like that, they and it's, it's out of control. They can't control themselves and they call that that's the anointing of the Holy Spirit. No, it's. It's not the anointing of the Holy Spirit, because the Bible says the spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet.
Speaker 1:Anything that you are not able to, even if you are anointed, even if you fulfill a compulsion, the Holy Spirit does not override our will. Okay, the Holy Spirit is a gentle spirit. He, you say the spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet. So you are still in control, you can control yourself. If you are given a word to speak, you can control and bring it out at the right time, right, the right time. That's, that's a Holy Spirit. It's not something that you're being pushed A. Demons will push, demons will compel, demons will cause you to do things without your, your ability to control. That's a that's a clear way to identify that there is an evil spirit that is involved there.
Speaker 1:And when you identify that, all you need to do is to take a stand against it. Right, remember what I shared in my last teaching that you resist the devil. Peter says in 1 Peter 5, verse 8, you know that the devil, you are an enemy, you adversary, right Rawls, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, resist him steadfastly. You resist. Your work is to resist. And James says resist the devil and he will flee. You see, you have to resist. So you know that. Then you identify that and then you take your stand. You say no, satan or demons, you cannot operate in me. And when you do that, especially when you identify that is, this is demonic, then you already have 50% victory. All now you need is to take your stand. And demons of no choice. When, when light is shown, when the truth comes in, deliverance has to come. You have to be free and you, the enemy will try to come back. You take your stand, remain standing on the truth so that the devil cannot take it, the devil cannot take control over you.
Speaker 1:Let's go to the fourth one. All right, the fourth one is uncontrollable shouts and cries. All right, uncontrollable shouts and cries. You, you, you find somebody suddenly, they're, they're shouting and they, they don't know what they, what do they do, you're shouting, or there's that crying, crying, crying, you know, you know, a sudden, sudden shout out of nowhere. You know, it just comes in and you are not and is uncontrollable. Okay, this, remember this, this is an Uncontrollable shout, is something that you, you, you are not able to stop it, it just comes in, identify that is a demon. Or crying, you know, somebody just starts crying, crying, crying, crying and this. You can see this especially in in children, babies. We've had baby as a demon spirit and it's that crying. You know, I can cry.
Speaker 1:Remember I was conducting service in my home, in one of my, one of my churches, at home, and praying, now's brought a child who had just been just been born and and the parents were saying this child, I is just crying and crying and crying, you know, all the time just crying and crying and crying, and became an oppression to this new company, new, new parents. And we, we rebuked that spirit, we prayed for that child and we are doing for that's a spirit and rebuked it. And I saw the child and I was later on also the child. I stopped crying and the day I was home and I was shown the girl is a grown-up girl now. And so this is the girl you prayed for years ago. When she was born, she was just crying and crying and praise God. When you prayed for her, that crying stopped and we're able to raise the child. Okay, so that's, that's a you see, that's, that's a demon that has to be identified.
Speaker 1:All right, let's go to number five and really behavior, and really behavior, especially in children. You find children who are unruly, they cannot be controlled, they just difficult, just Impossible children. Now, when you see that those are children who have Demon spirits in them, they are, they have a spirit that is controlling them and that's very need to be broken, it has to be broken down. Remember, again, I was conducting healing and deliverance Back home and two girls who are brought to me and they complained those, these children are Impossible to control. The parents could not control them in school, they could not settle down, they were just a problem and the teachers had to say get these children out. They are not fit to be in school. And they were brought in the moment they saw me, the moment I started praying for, for those girls, the demons Cook all of them and they started manifesting. You know, they fell down and I lay hands on the and the girl, and the girl just went down and the other one went down and you can see, the eyes were rolled at the white of the eye was what was being seen and they were manifesting and crawling down and and and and showing signs of, like a fierce animal, changing their faces in contortion, like a fierce animal. You know and you see, that's a demon. These are girls, these are little girls. They are not, they're not, they are not, they were not, they were not Pretending, you know, I didn't want to push them down or anything, but they just went down under the power of the Holy Spirit, praise God, were able to rebook those spirits and the children Came back to to normal and we're able to laugh what together and talk to them. Okay, so unruly behavior, especially in children. Children must be able to be subject. If they are unruly, you're most likely dealing with a demon spirit.
Speaker 1:All right, let me talk to another one here, falling into a trans. You know. Number six falling into a trans. A trans, you know, at times is where you are. You are like you're not in the body. Somebody is, is like they have lost their consciousness, they are gone. They are gone and People, people can fall into a trans by the Holy Spirit and sometimes it's demonic.
Speaker 1:You know, a demonic power had a, had a trans and a soul in a vision of her. Of course, animals being brought down, held in a, in a, in a curtain or in a cloth of cloth. That was from the Holy Spirit, but the devil also copies the things of God, you see. So, so you can, you can have those manifestations like that right, somebody who falls in a trans, and they can stay away for some time, some hours. They are not least, like they are not there, they just breathing. The body is brief, but they are gone.
Speaker 1:You know my, my stepmother, who was a witch doctor before she came to Christ, you know she said before she she got her powers as spiritual powers. She fell into a trans for one week, not going, not eating, not drinking, for one whole week, you know. And when she came back to her body, she was equipped with a seven demons for, for, for, for, for, for witchcraft, and and, and and doing Medicine, you know, and treating people. So you see, that's, that's a demon, that's a demon spirit. Number seven let's go quickly here. Number seven they can't stare a vacant, stare, vacant, look, you know, demons can make somebody look like they're dazed or fixed. They just, they just fix like that, you know, there for some time they just remain like that, fixed, you know, and then all of a sudden they're back, they're back, they're back to their senses. You know, that's, that's a demon spirit.
Speaker 1:Now there are some people who have taken medications which have side effects like that. Remember, I said, not all problems are caused by demons, but many are just Demonic, you know. So you, if you're on medication, that could be, could be the cause, a side effect of medication. But demons can cause somebody to just just be fixed. All of a sudden, they're just fixed, they just fix, they stay like that, they're not even blinking, they just staying Right there, staying flat, and then after some time there they're back to normal and they're doing things normally, normally, and then all of a sudden they, they just freeze, like somebody has Just frozen right, as a demon spirit manifesting itself. So you have to be careful.
Speaker 1:There may go to number eight. Number eight is Normal, abnormal strength. Abnormal strength. Demons can give people Abnormal strength, just not normal. I'm talking about abnormal strength. Remember the, the, the, the demoniac we've read. We're told he was bound by shackles, by chains. They put chains, iron chains, but he would cut them off and go and live in the tombs. Now that is supernatural strength and demons can give people strength which is not natural. There are people, some spots may naturally Go to receive demonic powers in order to be able to do things beyond natural. Okay, demons can give strength.
Speaker 1:Remember the story of the seven sons of skiver in in ax chapter 19. You go and read ax chapter 19, you will see some seven sons of skiver. They were casting out Demo, a demon, from a man, seven sons of skiver, and they were saying in the name of Jesus, home, paul preaches, come out, cast you out. In the name and the demon spirit say the Paul, I know and and in Jesus, I know. But why you? The Bible says as those that Demond. One man got hold of those seven sons of and gave them a beating until they left their bleeding and and naked. One man beating seven sons, seven sons of Sceva. So that's supernatural strength. And when we have contacted healing and deliverance, you will be surprised. You can get a girl, a small girl, and you're trying to hold when the demons begins to manifest. Even three men are trying to hold the girl. They cannot pin the girl down because so strong, so strong. So demons do give people supernatural strength.
Speaker 1:Let's go to number 10 here. High tent is sexual. High tent or abnormal sexual behavior? High tent or abnormal sexual behavior? Remember, I told you the sexual desire is normal. We are sexual beings, that's normal, all of us have it. But we are talking about something that has been heightened, something that has been abnormally empowered by the demon, a spirit of lust, a spirit of immorality, a lived spirit, a spirit of perversion. Okay, now you have a desire for sex. That is not natural. Now, if somebody who is an adultery is beyond control, you know doing things that are beyond natural. I remember one brother preaching that you have, when you have this, you find somebody is looking for the wrong even age group. Is an old man going for very young children, very young children? That's an abnormal sexual behavior. That's a demon spirit.
Speaker 1:Okay, a spirit of perversion, for example, homosexuality, a wrong gender. You have wrong gender. You're the man wanting a man. You know, a woman looking for a woman that's. Homosexuality is demonic. All right, homosexuality is a demon period. You just need to have that spirit delivered. And there are some who have submitted to that and say I need help. And they have gotten help. When that spirit is broken, they receive their normal desires back. All right. Lesbianism Okay, masturbation can be masturbation you can have.
Speaker 1:Of course, as people grow up, it does happen, you know, as they're getting to identify themselves. It happens, you know, just because maybe you masturbated doesn't mean you have a demon. Okay, it's part of growing up. It happens, almost everyone. Okay, but when you have an uncontrollable masturbation, we have people who are married but they cannot stop masturbating. They are people who are just bounded. They just find themselves, they're just doing it and they can't control themselves until they even broken their homes, broken their families. Why? Because there is a demon spirit that is involved there that has taken over, and so they need deliverance from the spirit of masturbation.
Speaker 1:Okay, I remember I said not every symptom doesn't mean you have a demon, but sometimes it's demonic when you're being driven. You are not in control. You are not in control. If it is a work of the flesh, that is something we just need to pick up the cross and say no to it and die to that desire. You bring it under control. So you have to identify so that you're able to deal accordingly. All right, feel accordingly. All right, let me just give one more, number 11, number 11, one more and then we'll carry on with the rest in the next teaching.
Speaker 1:Things moving number 11, things moving up and down your body. You know, somebody comes and say oh, I feel like there is a, there is a snake that comes in. I feel something moves from down there, from my leg can't climbing up, or I feel things moving in my stomach, like sometimes I feel like there's some things that are moving in my stomach or in my chest and I hold my chest and I feel that tightness coming in, you know. And then the funny thing is that such people will go to the doctor, explain their problem and the doctor will do the exam, do all kinds of scans maybe MRIs and CT scans and blood, blood, blood assessments and analysis and all kinds of tests. They run all kinds of tests but they cannot identify the sickness this person has. Many times they just say some mental problem, but and this person is actually feeling these things moving.
Speaker 1:That's a demon spirit, that is a spirit of oppression, especially if doctors cannot find a cause. You cannot treat that with a pill. You need that demon to be cast out. You need that demon to be to be cast out so that you can get your freedom, all right. So now, these are just some. They are not all. You know. There are some which we can see on the outside and then they manifest on the inside.
Speaker 1:In the next teaching we will look at some of the inward things that may not be able to be seen on the outside, but they, they can also manifest on the outside and people will see them.
