Have you ever considered that the trials you face might not be solely of your own doing, but possibly the echo of your lineage's past? This episode delves into the enigmatic terrain of generational curses, where we dissect how actions of our forebearers cast long shadows on our present and future. Drawing from the wisdom of Derek Prince and the biblical foundation of Exodus 20:4-6, we examine the real impact these spiritual forces can have across generations and the importance of confronting and understanding this dimension of spirituality.

In the final segment, the path to liberation from these ancestral burdens unfolds as I walk you through the essential steps needed to break free from generational curses. Recognize the power of acknowledging, confessing, and the prayerful repentance that anchors our deliverance process. Together, we'll explore the transformative potential of communal prayer and support, as we embrace the redemption offered through faith in Christ, inspired by Lamentations 5:7. Join me in this transformative session that offers not just enlightenment but the very hope of spiritual freedom.

Speaker 1:

Hi and welcome to this healing and deliverance tool. It's a teaching series where I share with you divine tools that will bring healing and deliverance from demonic oppression. I'm your host, dr Gilbert Mochia, dentist, bishop of faith celebration ministry's international in Kenya. Pastor of faith life victory church in Houston, texas. So let's get started with our teaching, and today I want us to look at very important we'll begin this today how demons enter people. A very important subject how demons enter people. We want to know how they gain access. Would you like to know that? How do they come in? You know? Because if we know that, then we can be able to stop some of the ways that they gain access into our lives. And before I get into the various ways, there are very many ways that demons can come in Before I do that, I want to take a moment and crystallize some of the some of the truth that we need to under God ourselves with, even as we speak about the subject of demons coming into people's lives.

Speaker 1:

So I'll share three of them and then I will begin with a number one way how that gives demons rights to come into into people's lives A very important one We'll only be able to start today and because it's something that is neglected a lot within the teaching circles of the church. I'll take a little bit longer time, maybe also in the other sessions, so we can be able to understand. So stay with me, because what we are sharing is very, very important. It will help you and it will help somebody else when they get to listen to this. So, okay, so let's share these three I call them foundational truth that can under God us. And the first, the first one I want to share here is that demons cannot enter at will or whenever they wish. Okay, when you're talking about demons, some people get scared. You know, some people don't want to to to study them, they are afraid. But if they're there, we they are, we better know them. Okay, so we don't need to be scared, we don't need to be afraid. Demons cannot enter at will or whenever they wish. If they had that power, then every single living human being will be possessed, but they don't have that power. All right.

Speaker 1:

And so we saw when we were reading in past teachings 1 Peter, chapter five, verse eight and nine 1 Peter five, verse eight and nine. It says be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary, the devil, works about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same suffering suffering are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. So this is a postal Peter. He has shown us in the past. I will repeat this because it's important. It says we have an adversary, we have an enemy, an act enemy. He is seeking to destroy, especially believers, especially Christians. And Peter once he says be sober, don't live like a drunkard, be sober, be vigilant, be watchful. All right, why? Because your adversary, the devil, works about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. And then he gives instructions. He says resist him steadfast. That means you see how he's coming. Then you offer resistance. You have to push back. This is your part and my part to offer resistance. These are important truths, we must always have them. You have to offer resistance to the enemy.

Speaker 1:

You know James, chapter four, verse seven. It says submit yourselves to God, Resist the devil and he will flee from you. So it is your part and my part to resist, to push back, to say no, All right. So that's the first truth. Okay, he cannot come in any time that he wants to. He has to gain access, he has to look for a particular kind of person, a particular kind of Christian, in order to be able to gain access. The second, the second truth that we want to to to put down again in our spirit is that Satan and his demons capitalise on ignorance, and we have shared this in the past, but it's important to repeat, so that you know, you have a part and I have a part that Satan and his demons capitalise on ignorance. What you don't know, that's what will kill you, that's what the enemy will use.

Speaker 1:

Remember the words of Apostle Paul in second Corinthians, chapter two and verse 11. He says less Satan should take advantage of us, for we are not ignorant of his devices. You see that Paul says he wants the Corinthians and us today, less Satan take advantage of us. He can take advantage, he can take advantage, he can have an upper hand if we are ignorant of His devices. Do you know His devices? Do you know His schemings? Do you know His strategies? That's what we are saying Sending time to learn so that we kick out ignorance.

Speaker 1:

Remember what God says in Eosea, chapter 4, verse 6. He says my people perish for lack of knowledge. God Himself is saying my people, my own people, his own people perish for lack of knowledge. And he can just say because you have rejected knowledge, so I also have rejected you from bringing priests for me. So God says my people are perish. My people perish for lack of knowledge. So if we don't know, the enemy will use that ignorance. A good example is if a child is ignorantly playing with a loaded gun, that gun can explode, he can pull the trigger without knowing and he can end up injuring himself. So the same way, just because the child didn't know doesn't mean the gun will not hurt him. And Satan, we are told he masquerades as an angel of light. He likes to camouflage himself. Demons like to hide so that they are not known that they are the ones responsible. And so they come in. They call us things that will bring injury, will bring harm and they cause a lot of damage. So we have to know, we have to understand the enemy.

Speaker 1:

The words of Jesus are coming up here in John, chapter 10 and verse 10, he says the thief does not come except to steal and to kill and to destroy. But I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly. So there is a thief. A thief does not belong there. He comes to take what does not belong. We don't belong to the enemy. God created man for himself, but there is that thief and say the thief does not come except to steal and to kill and to destroy. So the enemy's own admission beloved, his own admission to steal, his own admission to kill and to destroy God's people. But we have the good shepherd. He says but I have come that they may have lives and have it more abundantly. Abundant life is our portion, more abundantly is our portion. But if we don't know, if we don't know, the enemy will take advantage of us. If we are not sober, if we are not vigilant, if we are not awake, then the enemy comes in. He says when the man slept, the enemy came in and planted acid. That's why, again, we want to know, we are studying.

Speaker 1:

The third truth that will under guard us is that demons look for legal rights to enter. We are saying that demons cannot come in at will, but they seek or they look for legal rights to enter. How do they get these rights? So demons exploit legal, spiritual rights. I'm taking it slowly because, so that we can understand that demons exploit spiritual legal rights, they gain these rights. Hear me here. They gain these rights through violations of God's holy law that were committed or are being committed. Very important to take that that demons exploit legal rights. They gain rights through violations of God's law that were committed in the past or are being committed presently. That's how they gain their legal rights. So keep those three important truth at the back of your mind as we get into this subject ways that demons gain legal rights. How, then, do they gain legal rights? So we start studying these rights that demons gain, and the first one, the first one, there are many. There are many. I mean, we can't share everything, but we will try our best to do as much as we can. So number one is through generational curse. Generational curse Okay, it's not that this is the most important one, but I've chosen this one because this is a most neglected area, most neglected area which the enemy capitalizes.

Speaker 1:

What is a curse, right, what is a curse? And I don't want to give you a dictionary definition. You can open your dictionary and try to find. Many people have an idea what a curse is, so I'll just give you a working definition, maybe in my own words, or what I have learned over the years, that a curse for me is a negative spiritual force. Okay, spiritual is a negative spiritual force that brings misfortune, bad luck, bad breaks, that can bring harm and injury into a person, into some places. You know places. A place can be cursed. A city can be cursed. A nation can be cursed and lives can be so. It can be a person, it can be it can be a group of people, it can be a whole nation. It can be a certain place that is cursed. You know, a certain land, a land can be inanimate. Places can be cursed. A land can be a cursed land and it's not producing anything Right. So so so again, what it is, it is a negative spiritual force, a supernatural spiritual force, and that are capable of bringing harm, bringing misfortune, bringing bad luck, bringing all kinds of evil into person's life or in an area.

Speaker 1:

So that's what we are talking about, especially if it can be, is being enforced by spiritual forces. That's what a curse is. It's a, it's a pronouncement. If you look at the dictionary definitions, it's a, it's a pronounce, it's a words that are being released. Now, I'm not talking about curse words. Okay, cursed words are just blasphemies that people release carelessly. People speak harsh words or cause words. We call them curses. That's not what we are talking about. Okay, those are just emotional and some some words that people are used, even to use the name of God, and they're called cursing. He likes to curse. Now, those are pronounced, but they're different.

Speaker 1:

We're talking about a curse that follows. So, when we come, we bring in the word generational curse. Generational caste, therefore, will be, will be a spiritual force that is coming way back. You know it's coming, is a long spiritual force that comes through an ancestral line, a lineage, and follows into a life of a person or a place or an area. All right, derek Prince, one of the teachers that I love. He says it's like a long shadow, a long shadow from the past that brings darkness into a life. Or he says it's like it's like a hook, a long hook as an invisible hook that that comes to trip somebody down. You're trying to make progress, you're trying to go forward, but there is a force that pulls you down. Sometimes you're just about to make it in life and then something happens. True, it's like you're being pulled back and you start all over again. All right, so we'll look at various things on these classes. Let's be guided by the word of God? How do? Where do these generational classes? You know how do they come about? How is it possible that we can have a class coming through generation? Now, this we will find in exodus.

Speaker 1:

Exodus, chapter 20, verse 4, 5 and 6. Right, you can, you can read there. But it says that this is where God was giving the commandments through Moses. And God says that you shall not make for yourself a curved image of any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the world under the earth. You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord, your God, I am a jealous God visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love me and keep my commandments. So you see, here God was giving the, the commandments through Moses, and and the, the breaking of the first two commandments.

Speaker 1:

The first two commandments in particular, in particular those attract a generational cast. God says you shall have no other God besides me. Anything that you value above God, anything that you value above God, is capable of bringing a curse into your life. Then he says. The second one is making idols. You shall not make anything in my likeness, even the things on high, things underneath. No God has forbidden idolatry. And he says I am a jealous God. God calls himself for I am a jealous God visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me, but showing mercy to a thousand, to those who love me and keep my commandments all right. So generational cast, a cast, a negative force can come down the line, can come down the line up to the third or even the fourth generation.

Speaker 1:

I wanted to think about that because that is scary, beloved. That is scary, is very scary when we talk about four generational behind. That, what happened four generations behind can bring trouble into our lives today. Talking about, when you talk about four generations, okay, let's do a little, because we I want us to to be able to understand the magnitude of this problem. Okay, the magnitude of this problem for generation.

Speaker 1:

Now, each and every one of us, we have two parents, right. You have two parents, your father and your mother, and then you have four grandparents. That makes six, right? So parents, and then four grandparents. So that makes this. Now you have four grandparents. These four grandparents, they all have two parents who are your great-grandparents. So those four grandparents, we are talking about each one of us having eight great-grandparents, eight separate from our grandfathers. Those are ahead of our grandparents. So we have, we have four, four grandparents, and then we have now eight, eight great-grandparents. So this four plus this eight, that makes 12 already. And then we have two parents, father and mother, so two parents plus four, six, and then plus eight, that is 14, to the level of reaching your great-grandparents. 14 people, different people. Now, these eight great-grandparents each has a father and a mother who we call great-great-grandparents. So these six for eight people will have now 16. All of us have 16 great-great-grandparents, 16 plus we already have 14.

Speaker 1:

That makes 30 different individuals, separate with their lives, who can have, who may have committed or may have broken God's law. You think about that, imagine, think about that. That. How many years back is is your, is your great great-grandparents, and then 30 of them, different individuals, 16 great-grandparents and then great great-grandparents. So we have that individual.

Speaker 1:

Who of us can say that they have a generation that is clean, a generation of a people who have worked and obeyed in the ways of the Lord, and God says I am a jealous God. I visit the sins of the parents to their children, up to the fourth, third and the fourth generation. Any of those 30 people may have been involved in some abomination, some abominable activities that may bring a link which the devil can exploit. Now you understand this. I said in my in my third at truth, that I was in my introduction that the devil looks for legal grounds. He seeks legal rights in order to operate. So the enemy of the devil knows that. God himself has said in his word that he will visit the sins of the chill of the parents to their children up to the third and the fourth generation, those who hate me. Who knows what those people behind me have done? If there was some witchcraft, if there was some idol worship in that generation? That is a shadow, that is a link that the enemy can exploit.

Speaker 1:

When I started looking and studying, they say this is something that we have to study and know and see how we can break ourselves, and I will show you how we can be freed. Now, of course, it's important to bring this verse, which is in Galatians, chapter 3, verse 13 and 14. This is important, so I'm gonna bring it here Galatians, chapter 3 and verse number 14. So this is what it says. It says Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law Having become a curse for us. For it is written curse is everyone who hangs on a tree. That the blessings of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus. That we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Hallelujah, that is sweet, that Christ has redeemed us. He has paid the price to redeem us from the curse of the law for the breaking of the law Having become a curse for us. So Jesus hung on the tree. The book of Leviticus says whoever hangs on the tree is cursed. So Jesus became a curse by being hung on the tree. So there was a transfer. What was a curse for me has been transferred upon Jesus Christ. There was a transfer that took place that Jesus became a curse. That I may inherit a blessing. That the blessings of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ. When you get into Christ, then you qualify to be attached into the blessings which God pronounced upon Abraham. Right, so we believe us. If you're not, you need to be a child of God.

Speaker 1:

Now this is where it becomes interesting. Okay, we have to understand that the benefits of the cross right, the benefits of the cross are entered into by faith. When we are saved, our sins are forgiven. They are wiped away. Right, we accept forgiveness. Our sins have been paid for. That is important. So we are. We are not. God no longer holds us accountable for our sins. But there is something that I want us to get to understand here is that the consequences of the sins of the past, past generations, they need to be dealt with. We need to deal with the sins that were committed by the generations that have gone by. You know, you have to understand that the consequences of sin is forgiven. Okay, sins can be forgiven, but the consequences can still be there. Alright, let me let me read a very important verse with you here, lamentation right.

Speaker 1:

Lamentation. Chapter 5, book of Lamentation was written by the prophet Jeremiah, lamentation 5, by 7 and 8. Listen very carefully here what Jeremiah says. Now, jeremiah. Jeremiah was, was, was in captivity. Jeremiah saw, he prophesied to the nation, he warned them against idolatry, he warned them against, against forsaking the true God. But the people would not listen until the Babylonians came in and and and ravaged Jerusalem and took captives and took them to Babylon. And so Jeremiah saw trouble during his lifetime. He saw how, what happens when God comes to fulfill his word.

Speaker 1:

And in the book of Lamentation, chapter 5 by 7, this is what he says. He says our fathers sinned and are no more, but we bear their iniquities. Think about that. Our fathers sinned and are no more, but we bear their iniquities. He continues to say servants rule over us. There is none to deliver us from their hands. Oh God, he says our fathers.

Speaker 1:

The verses say our ancestors. See, our ancestors, the international standard of verses. Our ancestors sinned and are dead. Our fathers sinned, are no more, they are dead, but we bear their iniquities. We are suffering because of the sins that were committed in the past by our ancestors, by our full fathers. There is what they did that is casting a shadow and bringing trouble into our lives. And he says servants rule over us. The God's people were supposed to be to, to be in charge, and the and the other nations were supposed to serve them. But he says now they are slaves, servants rule over us and there is none to deliver us from their hands.

Speaker 1:

Oh, jeremiah is lamenting, maybe the same lament we can say right now. You see, god has given us power over every demon spirit, over the powers of darkness, over the rulers of the darkness. We are victor. We have to know we have the victory over demonic powers. We have it. It's supposed to, that's our right. But demons can come and rule over us and begin to control us, and this can be as a result of a link over shadow, over shadow, because of the sins that were committed in the past, all right Seeds that were committed in the past, which are casting a shadow, bringing a hook, bringing trouble, bringing misfortune, bringing trouble into the lives of people today. Beloved, this is something that we, we don't talk about. We don't talk about much. I personally have to confess I don't know whether I've really taught the church about classes and blessings, and we could have people who are living under cars, right.

Speaker 1:

Let me try to answer a question. Somebody has a question in their, in their heart, saying but my sins are forgiven, why should I? Why should I suffer the consequences of the sins that were committed in the past? I have forgiven. I'm forgetting. It's true, brother. It's true. It's that you are forgiven, you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you are going to heaven. Your sins, your sins, are forgiven. You are not going to hell, all right.

Speaker 1:

But the question is can sins be forgiven and we still bear the consequences of those sins? That's a different story. The consequences of the sins of the past. Can sins be forgiven and yet we still bear the consequences of those sins? It's a good question if you are asking that and the answer is yes and emphatic yes, and the best example for this is been a biblical example. We don't even have to go start thinking here and there. We have a biblical example. You know the things that happened in the past. The Bible says in Romans, chapter 15, verse 4 the things that happened in the past. They are recorded for us to learn from. Okay, what we read in the Old Testament, these, it's meant to help us learn right. So so the best example is King David. A biblical example, king David. We know King David. The Bible describes King David as a man after God's own heart. God himself says I have seen David, my servant, a man after my own heart. So King David was a man after God's own heart. I'll go and read it. Second Samuel, chapter 12. I don't have time to read all that, to read all that, but when you go there, you will see King David.

Speaker 1:

He committed a series of sins, a series of sins. He broke the law. There were several of the ten commandments. He broke a series of them. Okay, including coveting his neighbor's wife, uriah's wife. Okay, he saw a woman bathing and he the woman was beautiful. He asked his servant whose woman is? That is, that is somebody's wife, david, that's Uriah's wife, and Uriah was at war and he's. He commanded the woman to be brought. And so he converted Uriah's wife. That is number 10 do not convert your neighbor's wife. He broke that. And then he committed adultery. Okay, he slept with somebody else's wife.

Speaker 1:

Then he started deceiving, trying to cover up his sin. When Bathsheba brought the message that I am pregnant, he started to cover up, trying to deceive, trying to be clever and cover up his sins. But you know, you know what the story is. He ended up killing Uriah. He ended up arranging so that Uriah was killed and then he took Bathsheba to be his wife. So David converted, david, committed adultery. David deceived, david murdered. All those are in the in the ten commandments.

Speaker 1:

And then the prophet Nazan was sent by God to him to confront him and say you have sinned. It is you, david. You have killed Uriah. You have taken his wife, bathsheba, to become your wife. And we know the story.

Speaker 1:

Long story short, david. David repented. David confess and repented his sin and told God I am sorry I have sinned against you. We know that. You can read in Psalms 51 of his confession and and God forgive him. The Bible says you.

Speaker 1:

The Bible in in in second Samuel, chapter 12. There go read God said you have been forgiven, but the consequences of David's sins poured him the child who was born. The sin was forgiven, but the child who was born had to die. Not only that, god said because you have done this thing and you have brought reproach, the sword shall not depart from your house, it shall be in your household, the sword. The sword shall not depart from you. See, david was forgiven, but the consequences of his sins followed his family and if you study David's family blood you will see there was incest there, there was murder. They were killing, the sons were dying at a young age. There was trouble in David's own life. His own son wanted to overthrow him from being the king. He was running away from his son. His son died a miserable death. His children killed one another and this has continued over over David's house in is it became a generational curse that has been following him.

Speaker 1:

Wow, generational curse. Could you, all right, be living under a curse? Is there a possibility that what is happening in your life, on somebody's life, is as a result of some sin that was committed that is following him? There is a shadow. You're trying to move forward. You can't some misfortune some people who look at some signs of a curse later on. We don't have time for that, okay, but this is just an introduction. Okay.

Speaker 1:

Looking at a generational curse right, what is the remedy of a curse? What? What are the remedies for a curse? Who will come to this? I'll just give them right now so that you can begin preparing yourself. Will go into much detail. But a sin, a generational curse, a sin that was committed that it has to be confessed. All right, I don't know whether you have done that. When I was reading this, I took time again to confess the sins, the sins of my forefathers, of my ancestors, any sin that was committed. That is an abomination against God. I took time to do that this night. I took time to do that. It's important, okay, well, and we'll come to that. Well, and then there's, then there is a repentance and then there is breaking of the curse by prayer. We will do this. We'll get time to pray together and break the curse beloved. What we are learning today that one way which demons come in because they exploit legal rights, because they look for a way to come in is through a generational curse and will look a little bit more because this is an important subject.

Speaker 1:

Before I go to the others, I'll spend some time again in our next teaching when we started looking a little deeper about these generational curses and some of the things that we should do, and then we will take it from there. Maybe you're saying, pastor, I need prayers. Yes, we will pray, we'll pray. The end of these teachings will still pray. But if you need prayer for deliverance, again I say this, and I've said in the other teaching that I have a lesson I have prepared where I teach a little bit about you receiving a miracle, receiving a breakthrough, receiving deliverance, and then I sit and prepare your heart. Then you can come and pray together.

Speaker 1:

So you go to our website, gilbertmochircom, and then look down there at some of the messages you I think you'll see it at the bottom there in our website. It said it's time for you a miracle. Listen to that and be able to pray. Come into argument with me in prayer. Let's pray, let's believe God for a breakthrough.

Speaker 1:

While you are at the website, again I say this give us your testimonies.

Speaker 1:

When God does something, let us know it will encourage us.

Speaker 1:

And then let us know that you are standing with us.

Speaker 1:

You can email us, you can send prayer requests, you can tell us how you want us to pray with you and also, if God allows you, looking for people to stand with us financially through donations.

Speaker 1:

Go in there, click the Donate button and be able to give whatever God enables you so that we can be able to cover the cost of producing these materials and also sending them on to various platforms. It costs money to produce, it costs money to do these teachings, and so God bless you. If you become partner with us, partnering with us and helping us, you become part of what God is using to send these very important messages, very critical, very vital information to bring deliverance. You never know what God can do when somebody hears this and then suddenly they come to discover that, oh, I may be living under a curse, and once the curse is broken. The devil has no hold over them and they start flourishing, living under the blessings of heaven. So we'll carry on from there when we take a little deeper look into curses and what these curses look like, but I don't want you to miss the next teaching. God bless you, love you. God loves you more, amen.
