You'll be able to join in, where we learn some wonderful things as we were receiving the word God gave us.
Speaker 1:In the new, especially in the New Testament, there are two, actually three, words that are used to describe time. It's chronos, and then there is kairos, and then there is aion. We concentrated on the two words chronos and then there is the word kairos. So to distinguish those two words, we saw that chronological time, or chrono, means it's a quantitative, it's about quantity of time. It could be short, it could be long, it doesn't matter, that is quantity. But kairos is about the quality of the moment and it's supposed to be seized. And we learned a very important aspect of that, which helped us to understand about God's dealings with us. We saw that God when he brings moments in our lives, they are kairos, they are not chronos.
Speaker 1:Today, I want to get deeper and be able to look at how God's word works, the workings of God's word, because we receive the word of God and unless we have certain understanding, we can lose, we can frustrate the purpose of God, and that's my mission today. I want you to see that, so we'll see how far we'll be able to go, and for this I want to read with you Mark, chapter 4. So please go there. There's something that I want us to see what Jesus said in Mark, chapter 4, a very familiar parable of Jesus, the parable of the sower. You can read it from verse 1. Mark, chapter 4, from verse 1. My time will not allow me to read from verse 1, but it's a parable that Jesus gave about a sower. I want to cut it and read it from verse number 13, all the way to verse 20, where Jesus was explaining the parable to the disciples and he said to them do you not understand this parable? How, then, will you understand all the parables?
Speaker 1:The sower sows the word, and these are the ones by the wayside, where the word is sown. When they shear, satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. These, likewise, are the ones sown on the stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness, and they have no root in themselves and so endure only for a time Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the world's sake, immediately they stumble. Now these are the ones sown among thorns. They are the ones who hear the word and the cares of this world and it becomes unfruitful. But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it and bear fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty and some a hundred fold now beloved. They are wonderful truths that I want us to imbibe here as we look at the workings of the word of God.
Speaker 1:The workings of the word of God. I wanted to know from the outset here that the word of God is the seed Jesus is explaining. Jesus is explaining the parable that he had given of the seed falling in three different types of soil or scenarios. But then there is something that he mentions here in verse 14, which we have read. It says the sower sows the word. So the word of God is a seed, is a seed that you receive. Take that very important is a seed that you receive. Take that very important is a seed. And so I want you to go back to to a farmer, a farmer mentality. Understand it from the farming analogs of farming perspective. That's when you begin to see how the word of god comes to us and how the word of God works. There are different aspects and stages of the world heading toward fruitfulness, all right, the, the. The importance of the of a seed, the importance of a seed is to progress towards a bearing fruit. That one seed that you receive then becomes a tree that will bear many, many, many fruit, many fruits. But there are stages that are involved in that process and that is the thing that we miss out with God.
Speaker 1:We receive a word from the Lord and because we don't understand, because we don't understand what has happened, what we have received, then we miss our moments. Remember what I read in Ephesians, chapter 5, verse 15, and 16 and 17, where Paul says 16 and 17 where, uh, paul says be not, do not be as full you know, be. Let me just read that so that I don't. It says see that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. That word time, they are redeeming the time. The word used there is kairos. Redeeming your moment, redeeming your kairos. Therefore, do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And so we lose, we walk without understanding the workings of God and because of that, our moments passes. Cairo's moments are moments to be saved, moments to be saved with wisdom and understanding. Hallelujah. Now, all right.
Speaker 1:So let's look at the progression of the word. The word that we have received, it is on a mission. That word God sends is on a mission. Now, when you receive a word okay, this is, I have to go slowly because I want us to have understanding. If we don't have understanding, that's when the enemy just takes the word away from us.
Speaker 1:Okay, when you receive the word of God, when you receive a word from the Lord, it is a seed. It is a seed that has come to you. Now, know that it is not yet planted. Okay, a farmer can have seeds. He has a plan to go and plant them. Okay, but there is a process. There is a process. You have the word, you have the seed, but the first stage is preparation. It's preparation for planting. There is preparation for planting of that soil so that it can have root If the ground is hard.
Speaker 1:I want you to think like a farmer. If you have to understand the word of God, if you have to understand how the word of God was, think in terms of a farmer. He has a farm, he has a land. Some place in the Bible says plow your fallow ground. So the farmer begins a process of preparing the ground. I know those of you who are living in farming land. You are getting this more than those who are living in the city. He has the seed. The seed is the word. Please have that. The seed is the word. He has the seed. But then now he goes to prepare, to prepare the ground and and lift up the soil and make it soft and easy for the world to take root so that it can have root and penetrate and be able to bear fruit.
Speaker 1:So there is the preparation time. There is a preparation time which we don't know how long it depending on the word that you have received from the Lord, depending on the mission of the word. Oh, let me slow down again. Depending on the mission, what is that word supposed to accomplish? What is that word supposed to accomplish in your life. That depends when that is known, then the preparation has to be concomitant. It has to be concomitant to that, it has to measure up to that. The bigger the word, the bigger the mission. For the word that you have received from the Lord, the more preparation that is required. And some of you have a word from the Lord. But what God wants to do with your life, what God wants to do with that world, is a huge mission with huge ramifications, with the big results that are meant to affect and affect, and affect and affect maybe generations to come. And because of that the preparation time may be long. But God understand again, god does not look in terms of time, passing months and passing years. God is not working in Kronos, god is working in Kairos.
Speaker 1:Let me bring an example. I like using examples because they help us to understand the workings of God, because what we are seeing is nothing new, it's something that God has been working. And there are so many examples, but let me take one example on a preparation so that you can understand, because some of you are there. All right, let's take the example of Moses Moses. Moses was, was, was a deliverer. He was a deliverer of the children of Israel from the, from bondage. God was gonna use him to deliver the children of Israel from bondage, from slavery, and take them to the promised land. Now you have to understand that the things that God wanted to do in the life of Moses, they were great things which are touching lives. Inside Moses there was the five books of the law, the Pentateuch, genesis, exodus, leviticus, numbers, deuteronomy and some of the Psalms that we have like Psalms. I think it's Psalms 90. There are a couple of Psalms that were written by Moses.
Speaker 1:Now Moses had the Lord of God. He was a lawgiver, he was an example, a type of the mission that God had for him. The things that God wanted to do with his life were great, but God began the preparation. Even his birth was a preparation. He was saved at a time when boys were being choked to death at the time of birth. But when he was born, their parents noticed something different and they refused to obey the king and Moses was saved. Long story short, moses grew up in Pharaoh's house as a child of Pharaoh. That was a time of preparation.
Speaker 1:Now, what I wanted to know, what I wanted to know and I wanted to see this, okay, please, uh, be able to see this because, again, some of you are there, some of you have some things, and I'm not talking about ministry alone. You have to understand god has called us in different areas, in different, not just ministry in the church. Some of you are businessmen, some of you are entrepreneurs. Some of you have a have, a have a have a. God is going to make you financiers. God is going to to bless you, that you'll be a blessing in various areas. And some of you have clearly spoken word of God. You saw something about your life. You saw something and I'm repeating this because what God has? You already have a sense of what he wants to do with your life. You already have a sense, you already have, you've've seen it. It's like you have a vision of it all. Right, uh, so, so Moses, when he was growing up, when he was growing up, he, he got to know we don't know when, but he received the seed of the word of God that he was gonna be a deliverer.
Speaker 1:He was gonna be a deliverer of the children of Israel. How do we know this? So, if you go to Acts chapter, chapter 7 and verse 25, I'll I'll just drag back a little bit and and verse 23. Read verse 23. He says now, when he was 40 years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren, the children of Israel, and seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended and avenged him, who was oppressed and struck down. The Egyptian Verse 25 is my interest here, for he supposed that his brethren would have understood that God would deliver them by his hand. But they did not understand. So you see that Moses already knew that God had raised him, had protected him, had kept him and he had the seed of the word of God that he was gonna be a deliverer. And at 40 years of age he goes to see his brethren and he's hoping they will know. And they say somebody getting oppressed. He takes action there right now.
Speaker 1:Long story short, moses ran away to live in Midian. I want you to see that. And then it was another 40 years. Oh my God, help me to explain this to the church. It was another 40 years of preparation in the wilderness. God is not worried about chronological time. No, no, no, no. God is thinking about the mission. God is thinking about what he wants to do, what he. He took moses 40 years of growing in pharaoh's, pharaoh's, pharaoh's house, learning all the wisdom and knowledge, preparation, and the bible says he was mighty in. And then another 40 years in the wilderness, becoming a shepherd almost his dream, dying down like it will never work out. All that I thought god was gonna do through me. Oh man, that was not for me. Here he was.
Speaker 1:He is just tending the sheep of his father-in-law, jethro, and then he finds himself in the mountain of god in exodus, chapter 3. How he doesn, he doesn't know, but he finds himself. He finds God orders steps. God is organized, god is not late. He comes in Exodus, chapter 3, and Moses sees I want you to see this he sees a burning bush. He sees a burning bush and it is burning and it's not getting consumed. He says I'm going to go look and see what kind of fire is this that is burning and this bush is not getting destroyed. And when he approaches the burning bush, there is another kairos moment, kairos time. He already had the seed of the world.
Speaker 1:Moses, moses, do not draw close at here. Because he says remove your shoes. Of course I'm just paraphrasing this Remove your shoes because where you are standing is holy ground. And, we're told, moses stands with his face away. He didn't want to look at God.
Speaker 1:And God there now plants the word the preparation has been done. The preparation has been done 40 years in Pharaoh's house, 40 years in the wilderness. Now it is the time for the seed to be planted in his heart. And as he is the voice of God saying I have seen the cry and I know their sorrows. And God says now I have come down to deliver them. Wow, god, you have come down to deliver your people who are in Egypt. Well, god, you have come to the wrong place. This is a wilderness. They are in Egypt. This is not the place you should come. You should come down in Egypt. And God says no. He looks at him and in verse number 3, number 10, I think it was 10 of chapter 3 of Exodus, number three, number 10, I think, in the verse 10 of uh, chapter 3 of exodus, god says come now and I will send you to pharaoh that you may deliver my people who are in bondage in egypt.
Speaker 1:The word of God now is sown in a soul that God has prepared for 80 years, 80 years of preparation. God has knocked off all the self-agor of Moses. He has knocked off everything that he could hold on to. All he has is nothing. All he can hold on to is God. And, of course, moses said who am I that I should go to Pharaoh? Are you talking about Pharaoh? Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and deliver your people? And God says you are the right man. I'm just paraphrasing Amen.
Speaker 1:What I wanted to see there, what I wanted to see in that, is that there was a preparation. The seed of God, the word of God, the mission of God, was already there, was already there, but there was need for preparation so that he can receive the implantation of the word of God. And we know the story Moses was sent. Now there is a. There's a lot that I can I can share in terms of preparation preparation for a time, preparation for a time. Everything that you receive from there is preparation, from the word of God has preparation. Let me give a quick example and I'll not go into too much depth.
Speaker 1:All of us know King David. King David, this man, was anointed by Samuel when he was a young boy. The anointing happened in his father's house, jesse's house in Bethlehem, when he was probably 14 years, was probably 14 years, probably 15 years? We don't know. But Samuel was sent by God with a word to Jesse's family, to one of his sons, that I have chosen one of your sons, Saul, and David was chosen. All other brothers who were older, the six brothers, could not fit. And then David was anointed by Samuel, literally being told you are the next king. A young boy were the next king, a young boy man. He was not ready to lead.
Speaker 1:David is the greatest king, is the greatest king of Israel. He's the greatest king of he of Israel. They know him. He was another, a prototype of Christ. Christ was gonna come through his loins. He's called the son of David, the whole nation, because he reigned over Judah for seven years. Judah alone is very interesting. I'll come to this in the next session. I don't have time so that you can see other workings of the word of God, I'm just on the preparation. But he's reigned seven years in Hebron, over one tribe only, and then, after seven years, that is when Saul is already dead. All right, we'll come to this. But then when he ascended to take the throne of the whole Israel, we are told when David was 30 years old Look at that. Maybe he was 14 when the word. The seed was there. When the seed was there, the seed was given. The word was given by Samuel. You're going to be the king, but there was preparation. Maybe it took another 15 years, maybe 14 years, we don't know but there was preparation. When he was 30 years old, when he was ready to take the reins of the nation of Israel as the king, the second king of Israel. Of course, there was another one who took over from Saul, the Saul son Ish-botheth.
Speaker 1:I don't want to be drawn by it. You get the point. You get a point. What am I saying?
Speaker 1:Beloved the seed, you can have the seed of the word of God. You can have the seed of the word of God, but that does not mean it is implanted. You know, we? It says that the water comes down and the snow comes down. It waters the ground, causes it to bring forth and to burn and to bear. Now, when we receive the Word of God, we see the fruit, we see what God has said, we see what God has promised. Like us, we have been promised, we were promised. Arise and shine for your glory, for, for the glory of God, for, for, for the glory of God is risen upon you arise and shine. Rise, we receive the word and we're glad. We rejoice over the word. We were thankful over the word. I don't know what God spoke to your heart. I don't know what word you have been having.
Speaker 1:Don't let the passage of time change what God said to you. No, no, no, no. That word is still. There is a seed and you have to understand. Seeds can stay for long, I'm told. I don't know you, go and Google how long the longest seed that has has ever stayed and and put the right manure, the right thing and it bad somebody was. You can confirm they seen in with Google or Siri, whatever over the internet.
Speaker 1:A seed was found in the tombs of Egypt that may have been there for thousands of years, maybe 2,000 of years, and that seed they put the necessary soil and water and manure, the necessary condition, and the seed rose up. The seed came alive. The seed has capacity to wait for the right condition. Passage of time does not change the seed of the word of God. These are revelations that are coming in my heart. They are not there in my notes. I'm just speaking as the Lord is speaking. Passage of time, hear. This Passage of time does not affect the seed. The seed will wait for the right conditions to arise to come into being and it will begin the mission what God sent it for, because the word was on a mission, the promise of the word. When God speaks, we have sung. When God gives a promise, we say yea and amen to that word, so that I can prepare the ground for the next teaching that I want to bring. I want you to see this. This is very, very important.
Speaker 1:We have read about God, jesus' explanation, explanation of the word, of the word, the parable of the sower. And he says the seed is the word of God, the seed is the word that will be sown, that has been sown. Now, you see, he says some fell on the wayside, on the wayside and Satan came and took away the seed. Now, if you go to Matthew, matthew explains it in the in Matthew chapter 13. Okay, matthew, chapter 13, the same parable of the sower. It explains there about why the seed was taken away. Says it because they did not understand. They did not understand.
Speaker 1:When you don't understand your word, that's the thing that the enemy targets. The enemy targets the word. Oh, I better close it, let me. Let me finish. The enemy targets the word. The enemy is after. Satan is after the word that you receive from God. Please put that down in your heart and in your spirit. Satan is after the word. Satan is after the seed that you receive. First of all, he wants to take it away. That's the number one, me to take it away before it has done anything in your life.
Speaker 1:The second thing if he doesn't take away the Word of God, the Bible says there are some that fell on hard ground, on stone, and it is spring out joy, like some of us, when we received the Word of God, when you received a revelation from God, a mission that God has given in your life, something that you show, but you were joyful, you were happy, you rejoice, you were happy. The Sun fell on hard ground. These are those who will receive the one with a joy, but because they do not have roots, because it's in a hard ground, it has not been broken down, broken down so that roots can go in it, that word, they receive it with a joy. When a persecution comes because of the water, will come to that in in our next teaching that what they stumble, the one is there, the one is, the city still there they still is still there in the ground. But the Bible says it they stumble, they stumble.
Speaker 1:You get stumbled in your heart. You know, I? I love the Swahili. What cook was what we said? Una quasi Quasima nano. You, you, you stumble on the world. What does it mean to stumble you? You are now. You are now in a complaining mode. You have been stumbled and you are grumbling.
Speaker 1:Where is that word? Was that God? Did God really say? Did God really promise? Did God really say Was that my excitation? Was that just the excitation? Why are things happening like why am I here? Why that? Why so and so did this? Why so and so left me? Why so and so left me? Why so and so has done this? Why my business is not going forward? Why do I have this? So you are stumbled. You stop looking at the world, you are looking at the circumstances. So the enemy will try to stumble you. Not only that, if he cannot stumble you, some already have the word starting to grow up. And then he says there are some that as the thorns grow up, they shock the world. They shock the world. Oh, hear me church, hear me brother, hear me saints, hear me be.
Speaker 1:The enemy is after the world to choke it If it is growing up. He wants to choke that word by bringing in the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches and other things coming in. We will touch that when we come next week as we get into other stages of this word of God. But understand this as we close, beloved, understand this word of God. This is what I want that the enemy is after the seed. The enemy is after the word. If the word is in you, if the word is already, if you are past the preparation stage and the word has been planted, he wants to stumble that word. He wants to stumble that word Then, if he is not stumbling, he wants to choke that word. He wants to choke the promise of God. He wants you to lose sight of what God has said to you, what God clearly spoke to your heart. That is what the enemy is after. And why is the enemy after it? Why is the enemy after it?
Speaker 1:The enemy hear this as I close I don't know, this is my third closing. Hear this the enemy is scared of the fruit that will come out of that word that you received. Oh god, let me say that again. The enemy is running, scared by the fruit, the fruit that will come out of the world that god has given to you. Did you hear what we say? Did you? Did you see what we say, that jesus said that. Let me read that I I like what I'm reading.
Speaker 1:Verse 16 of mark, chapter 4. These likewise are, are the ones shorn on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness, and they have no root in themselves and so endure only for a time, and afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises, for the sword's sake, immediately they stumble here. Verse 18. Now these are the ones shown among thorns. They are the ones who hear the word and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches and the desire for other things entering in shock the world and it becomes unfruitful Underline that word unfruitful.
Speaker 1:The enemy wants our lives to remain unfruitful by choking the word of God, by choking the Word of God. So the enemy is scared of the fruit, of the seed that you have, of the Word that you receive. But that's just one stage. We will quickly look at the other stages of the world so that we can move from receiving the word of God, from receiving a seed, to a time when we blossom and we release the fruit for the world to feed on that fruit. For the world to feed on that fruit. Wow, wow, wow. We will carry on with our teaching as we come next week, looking to other stages of the working of the word of God in our lives. God bless you, god. Do you good? Bless you, god, do you good? Hold on to the word. We are coming and we will put the enemy running. We'll see you again in our next teaching, amen.
